On 12 March 2019, Ambassador István Szabó met with Ms. Fehmida Mirza, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination and President of the Pakistan Sports Board. The Ambassador informed the Federal Minister that a Hungarian sport delegation will come to Pakistan and the aim of their visit is to introduce the Teqball game, a Hungarian football innovation, to the Pakistani audience at the EuroVillage, which is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan on 6th April.
The Federal Minister welcomed the initiative of the Embassy and she said that the football is very popular in Pakistan as well. Ms. Fehmida Mirza emphasized the openness of Pakistani side to deepen the sport relations between the two countries.
Beside informing the Federal Minister about the arrival of the delegation, Mr. István Szabó drew attention to the contribution of Hungarian football coaches to the Pakistani sporting life in the 70’s and between 2009-2010, when a Hungarian trainer led the Pakistani national football team.
At the end of the meeting, the parties also discussed the possibilities of scientific cooperation between Hungarian and Pakistani universities on the field of physical education and sports.
