On 12 October, 2018, Mr. István Szabó, Ambassador of the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Shehryar Afridi, Minister of State for Interior. The aim of the visit was to inform the Minister about the current topics of mutual interest in the bilateral relations.

During the discussion, the Hungarian Ambassador highlighted the role of the Hungarian MOL’s local subsidiary in the Pakistani energy market, and the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, which gives opportunity to 200 Pakistani students yearly to continue their higher studies in Hungary. Mr. István Szabó, in addition to the most prominent projects, spoke about the promising possibilities on the field of water, forestry and agricultural sectors.

The Minister of State for Interior thanked the Hungarian Ambassador for the information and assured the Head of Mission about his support to develop the bilateral ties.
