The leadership of the Pakistan Water Operator Network (PWON) hold a strategic discussion with development partners on 7 September, 2018. Dr. István Grafjódi, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad attended the meeting.

Mr. Syed Zahid Aziz, PWON Chairman and General Director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Lahore gave a presentation about the emerging opportunities in water and sanitation section. He informed the participants of the meeting, that the new Pakistani government plans to develop the water sector of the country, thus it is the right time for the public utilities and development partners to introduce their ideas how they could contribute to the implementation of the government’s intention.

The Budapest Waterworks, which provides 2 million citizens with healthy potable water each day in the Hungarian capitol, has already started cooperating with the two largest WASA in Lahore and Faisalabad.
