On 28 May 2021, the Hungarian Embassy in Islamabad, in cooperation with the sponsor Bank of Punjab, held a joint press conference after the restoration of the Lahore Fort’s August Schoefft (1809-1888) paintings.

Ambassador Béla Fazekas expressed his happiness that the most significant cultural project in the history of Hungarian-Pakistani relations was successfully completed with the restoration of the paintings and thanked the financial institution for its support.

Zafar Masud, president and CEO of the Bank of Punjab said that his bank attaches importance to the preservation of cultural remembrance. He highlighted that the paintings are not only important to Pakistan, but also part of the two countries’ common cultural heritage.
