On 20 October, 2018, Ambassador Mr. István Szabó and Mr. Michel Galopin, General Manager of the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, held a press conference on the occasion of the opening of the three-day long „HunGastro” Hungarian culinary art festival. Besides of the Hungarian Ambassador and Generel Manager, Mr. Zoltán Barabás, Vice President of the Hungarian Gastronomic National Association and head of the Hungarian chefs’ delegation answered the questions of the journalists.

Mr. István Szabó said that getting know the Hungarian gastronomy could bring the peoples of the two countries closer, and this certitude encouraged the embassy to organize the Hungarian culinary art festival. Mr. Michel Galopin emphasized that Serena Hotel is always open to new things and they are delighted to bring international flavors and gastronomical curiosities to Pakistani people.

After the ceremonial opening, Serena Hotel’s Zamana restaurant gave place to the event. where the guests could try Hungarian appetizers, main dishes and desserts for three nights. The foods were made by Mr. Zoltán Barabás, Mr. Zoltán Tímár, Ms. Mária Rózsa and Mr. Gergő Balázs chefs with the help of the hotel’s staff.
