The Embassy of Hungary announced an art competition for students arts on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the invention of the Rubik's Cube. Students of COMSATS University in Islamabad and the University of Punjab in Lahore were invited to the competition, and a total of nearly 50 entries were received. The artworks judged to be the best by a professional jury consisting of artists and gallery owners from Islamabad received a cash prize. The inventor, Ernő Rubik, personally selected the entry he liked the most, and the artist received a special prize.
An exhibition of the entries opened at the Khaad’o Khel Gallery, and Ambassador Béla Fazekas and the heads of the COMSATS University Art Department also gave speeches at the opening on December 16, 2024. An online publication of the artworks presented at the exhibition is to be published.
