Between 20-22 October the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad, in cooperation with Hungarian Gastronomic National Association (HGNA) and Serena Hotel, organizes a gastronomic festival, which will present the Hungarian culinary art. The event is sponsored by MOL Pakistan.
The event called „HunGastro Festival” will take place in Zamana Restaurant, Serena Hotel, Islamabad. During the 3 day festival you can enjoy the Hungarian cuisine, with the contribution of HGNA’s four Hungarian chefs (Mr. Zoltán Barabás, Mr. Attila Tímár, Ms. Mária Rózsa and Mr. Gergő Balázs).
Mr. Zoltán Barabás is a Schnitta Sámuel award-winning restaurant master and prominent member of the Hungarian hotel and restaurant culture. In 2017, he was selected to be ‘Gastronomer of the year’. Mr. Zoltán Barabás owns restaurants, which offer traditional Hungarian cuisine and high quality service to their guests.
Mr. Attila Tímár is a practical instructor at the Tímár Pension in Gyomaendrőd. He won silver and bronze medal with the Hungarian Cooking Team at the Cook World Cup in Luxembourg. Mr. Attila Tímár promoted Hungarian gastronomy in Malaysia and Indonesia as well.
Ms. Mária Rózsa began her career at the illustrious Hauer confectionery in 2008. Currently she is the pastry chef of the Stefánia Palace - Honvéd Cultural Center and she made the Army Cake of the year in 2014 and 2015. Recently she has been preparing for the Luxembourg's World Cup Competition, where she will represent the Hungarian Army’s team.
Mr. Gergő Balázs is the executive chef of Stefánia Palace - Honvéd Cultural Center and he works in the Hungarian Delegation to the NATO as well. In 2007, Mr. Gergő Balázs joined the chef’s team of the Hungarian Army and since 2014 he has been leading the team. Currently he is preparing for the Catering Cup Finals in Lyon, which tournament is in the framework of the Bocuse d'Or championship.
