On 23 October 2022, Ambassador Mr. Béla Fazekas visited the Peshawar Museum, which is located in the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The institution, founded in 1906, has the largest collection of Buddhist artwork dating from the ancient Gandhara civilization. The Hungarian Head of Mission in his guest book message commemorated the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the world-famous Hungarian orientalist, Sándor Kőrösi Csoma to Peshawar, the gate to the Indian Subcontinent and praised the first curator of the museum, another Hungarian-born orientalist, Sir Aurél Stein.
