On 31 October, 2017, HE. Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Foreign Minister of Pakistan visited H.E. Mr. István Szabó Hungarian Ambassador at his residence, in order to congratulate him on the occasion of Hungary’s National Day on 23 October.
The Hungarian Ambassador briefly informed the Foreign Minister about the actualities of the bilateral relations. Mr. István Szabó highlighted the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, which was offered by the Hungarian Government to Pakistan. In the framework of this program, Pakistani students can continue their studies in various higher education institutions in Hungary.
The Foreign Minister expressed his thanks for the offered scholarships and stressed, that educating Pakistani students in Hungary is the best long-term investment. Pakistan needs highly skilled professionals, who will be important not only for Pakistan, but they can also strengthen the relations between Hungary and Pakistan after they return to their country. He appreciated the investments and production of MOL Pakistan in the oil and gas sector as well, which contributes significantly to Pakistan's energy needs.
The Foreign Minister was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Mian Imran Masood, former Minister of Education of Punjab Province, with whom the Embassy has been in excellent cooperation for a long time.
