On 23 January, 2019, Ambassador István Szabó – in the company of Emília Szabóand Tivadar Takács  met with Aamir Hasan, Federal Secretary of the National History & Literary Heritage Division and informed him about the cultural projects of the Embassy.

From the initiatives of the Embassy, Mr. István Szabó highlighted the restoration of 10 pictures of the Lahore Fort’s Princess Bamba collection, which art works were made by the Hungarian painter August Schoefft. He was the court painter of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839), founder of the Sikh Empire in the Punjab province.

In addition, the parties discussed the renewal of the Hungarian-Pakistani Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation from 1974 as well as the possibility of experience exchange between Hungarian and Pakistani restoration experts in the near future.
