Ambassador István Szabó met with Mr. Omar Mahmood Hayat, President of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). During the meeting, the parties presented the scope of duties of the two country’s disaster management authority.
Mr. Hayat talked about the challenges that the authority faces: in the last few decades, besides the heavy rainfalls there were periods of drought as well, when his organization had to make the necessary steps.
Mr. István Szabó told that Hungary had been fighting with floods and droughts in the recent years, therefore our country has great experience in dealing with these disasters.
