On 12 November 2020, Ambassador Mr. Béla Fazekas and Commercial Counsellor Dr. István Grafjódi met with Mr. Atif Bokhari, President of the Pakistani Board of Investment (BoI). The discussion focused on the conclusion of the bilateral Investment Protection Agreement, which could bring further Hungarian investments to Pakistan.
The two sides agreed that their priority is to present and promote trade and investment opportunities in each other's countries. The Hungarian Ambassador highlighted the Pakistani subsidiary of the Hungarian MOL Group (MOL Pakistan) as an example, which has invested 2.5 billion USD in the country during its 20-year presence in Pakistan.
