Changes regarding residence in Hungary for the purpose of employment
Government Decree No. 450/2024 (XII. 23.) on the employment of guest workers in Hungary was published and came into force on the 1st of January 2025.
According to the new Legistlation, only nationalities listed in Appendix 1 of the Decree can be employed in Hungary with a residence permit for the purpose of employment. Pakistan is currently not listed among those nationalities.
Due to the above, the Embassy of Hungary currently does not accept Residence Permit applications for the purpose of employment.
