On 8 November 2019, Ambassador Mr. István Szabó met with the Governor of the Punjab Province, with whom economic and cultural issues were discussed.
One of the main topics of the meeting was strengthening the cooperation in the water sector, therefore the Hungarian Ambassador briefed his partner about the recent achievements of Hungary's water diplomacy and the success of the 3rd Budapest Water Summit, which took place in the Hungarian capitol between 15-17 October 2019.
In regard to the cultural matters, the parties discussed the possible restoration of the Princess Bamba collection’s August Schoefft paintings, which can be found in the Lahore Fort and made part of the Hungarian-Pakistani common cultural heritage.
