On 20 February 2019, the Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan Mr. István Szabó met with Mr. Faisal Vawda, Federal Minister for Water Resources. The Ambassador was accompanied by the commercial counsellor of the Hungarian mission.
Mr. István Szabó informed the Minister about the opening session of the Hungarian-Pakistani Joint Economic Commission to be held in September, and he emphasized that that the water sector has utmost importance in the bilateral economic cooperation. The Minister was also briefed about the areas of expertise (prevention of floods, irrigation and provision of drinking water, etc.), where Hungary and Pakistan could work together.
The Minister welcomed Hungary's willingness to cooperate and stressed that its country is open to partnership in all areas of water management. Hel also confirmed his participation at the Budapest Water Summit, which will be held between 15-17 October 2019.
