On 6 May 2019, Ambassador Mr. István Szabó met with Mr. Haroon Sharif, Chairman of the Pakistani Board of Investment (BoI). The main topic of the meeting was involving the BoI in the preparation of the first session of the Hungarian-Pakistani Joint Economic Committee (JEC) in Budapest in September.
The Ambassador emphasized that the Hungarian side would like to organize a well prepared and efficient session, and the Embassy had already started to search for Hungarian and Pakistani companies that could be each other partners in the future.
Mr. Haroon Sharif said that his organisation would gladly participate in the preparation of the JEC and they would assist to find the appropriate Pakistani companies. He expressed his opinion that the event will also be a good opportunity to strengthen existing business contacts.
