On 18 June 2019, Ambassador István met with Dr. Joseph Arshad, Bishop of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and his colleague Father Emmanuel Yousaf. Mr. Tibor Franka, Mayor of Kerepes also attended the meeting.
The Hungarian Ambassador informed the Bishop about the Hungary Helps program and the cooperation between Hungary and the Christian churches.
The Pakistani Bishop said that the Government of Imran Khan proclaims the importance of the harmony and communication between different religions. He emphasized that access to high quality education is of paramount importance for Pakistani youth, and thanked for the Hungarian scholarship programs.
